Currently, Launch Complex 39A is the active pad for crewed SpaceX Dragon missions and is also prepared to support future commercial crew flights. This historic pad was the departure point for the Apollo 11 mission and the Space Shuttle program. Its robust infrastructure allows for the integration of the Falcon 9 and the massive Starship vehicle, making it a central point for human spaceflight innovation.
Spaceport Florida
Located at the Space Coast Regional Airport, Spaceport Florida serves as a horizontal launch facility, distinct from the vertical launch pads of Cape Canaveral and KSC. This site is designed for takeoffs and landings like a conventional airport, catering to companies developing small satellite launchers and spaceplanes. The facility reduces congestion at the vertical launch sites and provides a flexible alternative for reaching orbit.
